Nice jacket

Not extremely heavy, but with a sweater under it you can stand a COLD day easily. Light enough with a T shirt for a milder day. I don't use the hood so the lack of a tie does not matter to me. Also, I got it at a GREAT sale price thus the 5 star for value.

Nice Coat!

I gave this to my husband as a Christmas present since he saw it in the catalog and really liked it. He didn't buy it right off because it was a little pricey. But when I received the email giving 25% off everything in the website, I decided it made it worthwhile. He loves it! The paprika colored one really has a 'home range' look to it and it fit him perfectly. Good quality.

Great Coat

I have bought three of these. It is a great coat, light weight, yet warm enough to wear comfortably in three seasons.

Great Buy!!

This coat is a must have. Handles weather easily and looks great doing it! Looks: I have the blue and it looks like a washed denim/canvas - it gets attention, but doesn't overstate anything. Fit: The jacket is slightly larger then what I think it should be. The sleeves aren't long, but feel bulkier then I would like, but if you use the clasp at the wrist you can make it a little smaller. Use: I get so much out of this coat. It has tons of pockets (conveniently located) so you can have your car keys, gloves, glasses cases, and cell phone all in different pockets and still have easy access to everything where you would want it to be! It isn't a heavy coat so this thing will go well into the Spring season, but is thin enough that a sweater, or even a sport coat can fit nicely inside. A good year round coat!

Great Coat!

I bought this coat for my husband who travels a lot and who wanted a ""not too heavy"" weather proof coat for rainy and snowy weather. Although the coat may not be warm enough for extremely cold weather, it is roomy enough for layers and still be comfortable. The resin treatment adds to the weather proofing and helps keep the wind out. Perfect for someone who is in and out of the car, etc. during inclement weather. I bought the ""denim"" like blue color coat on sale and it is very nice!!! Wish there was a version for woment!!!

Nice Coat

I agree with most of the reviews as far as layering etc. I wore this coat for a few weeks and loved it ...except, the main zipper had a catch in it when trying to unzip and was really annoying. I'd like to see the cuff straps with Velcro rather than snaps. I was actually pleasantly surprised how warm the coat was as I wore it during a few cold days here in the Northland. But unfortunately I had to return it.

Love the coat

I received this coat a few weeks ago and am very happy with it. I ordered the brighter color because i have been wearing dark blue about all my life. Have received compliments on the coat. However, one of my friends said, ""You are wearing an orange coat"". I replied, ""Well, that shows how uncultured you are; this happens to be Paprika!"" All in all I am happy. ordered a Large Tall (my usual size) and it fits fine. Would recommend this coat.

Comfortable Spring/Fall Coat

I really love this coat. It is perfect for a cool spring or fall day. Unless I had a big sweater on underneath I don't think you could use it in the colder climates (i.e. under 32 F). Without a sweater on underneath it tends to run a little large but I didn't object to that.

Home Range Coat a Joy

This coat is just of the right weight in Winter for Northern California; whether the weather is dry or wet, with it's collared hood. I bicycle a lot; and its double-platen zipper - so that the zippered coat can be unzipped-up from the bottom - allows the ample creation of pedaling-room, while the rest of me stays covered. I also fancy that the Paprika-color is noticeable by motorists. A lot of style about the garment, it suits my needs very well, and comfortably!

What a great coat!

We like the look of the coat in blue (although would have liked Paprika, if it was available), and all the pockets and exterior style touches. My husband likes that there is no velcro, and the sleeve lining that makes it easy to put on & take off. Since we're in the south, we don't often need snow gear, and the fit is loose enough to have a heavy vest or sweater under it when needed. It keeps him dry in the rain, and looks good on him, so we recommend this for every day use.

Home Range Coat

This is a good coat, although I wish it had upper slash pockets instead, also the liner could be just a tad thicker, but overall its a good buy for your money.

A bit disappointed

I was so looking forward to getting this jacket-I thought just the thing for early Spring and rain showers. I was a bit disappointed in the quality. It looked and felt like low quality fabric-I must say it was quite expensive for what it is and I was also shocked to see the price went down $30.00 just a few days after I had bought it-Maybe if I got it at the current sale price ($89) it wouldn't have seemed so bad-Just thought that it was overpriced for what it was-looks good in the photo-wished it look that good now that I have it it. Oh well...

Beyond the Barn

Some years ago I had a barn jacket that was just right for those cool but-not-too-cold nights that frequented New York often throughout the year. I wore that coat out with persistence and Velveteen-Rabbit-esque loyalty. I now have a coat that is a comfortable and comforting, but sturdier and more stylish -- and more pocket-rich -- a boon to a photographer-poet-hiker. All I need is for Savannah to produce more cool nights, so I can wear my Home Range Coat more often. Given its solid construction, I expect to be able to love it for a long, long time.

Odd but loveable

Bought this with on sale and wasn't sure what to expect after reading the reviews. The texture of the fabric is odd, kind of like it has a wax coating. But once I wore it a few times I was really surprised. Many useful pockets and it is extremely comfortable. Not sure I would use the hood that much so it's not an issue. Sleeves are a little long but they can be tightened avoiding the necessity of an alteration. One of my best TA purchases and I've made quite a few.

GREAT JACKET!

This jacket is really nice.I got it for my son who lives in Portland, Ore. where it is rainy or wet with mist most of the time.He does also ride his bike often. This one will be perfect especially with all the pockets and the deep one on the one side and the hood.It is a light to medium weight jacket and confortable to wear.(my husband tried it on and liked it) I have bought a few or so jackets for him and all have been true to size as he is 5'10""and slim (33waist) and wears the M nicely.I find guys are not easy to shop for with jackets but the ones I get here at TA both my sons and husband love them and wear all them the time! They make great Christmas gifts and none have ever been returned. I find them different than the average jacket anywhere else. They like the exra added features you don't often see in many other jackets like bigger pockets, inside pockets, zippered pockets and hood.Extra tighter snap at wrists and longer length when needed on certain styles. Thanks TA.you make my shopping so easy with no fuss or worry and that's comfortng to a shopper.

REALLY FINE JACKET

I have this jacket in paprika color. I am 6'1" (used to be 6'2"). (My arms are still long...just shrunk in height). I am about 200lbs. The L/T is a PERFECT fit for me. I like the jacket so much I am tempted to buy the blue in large since it apparently isn't available in Tall...at current price ($49) the fit might be worth the gamble.

Home Range

I feel guilty for getting such a superb jacket for so little money, the current sale price of less than $50. The jacket is substantial in thickness and good for spring, fall and most winter days in the northeast. The material has a slick, waxy sheen to it that's rain resistant. The navy color is classic and blends with nearly anything. Pockets are useful. Top notch garment at a great price.

Nice coat

Bought one for myself in a mans small, since here is no women's version around except for princess-seamed, fitted barn coats. It's a bit loose but I'm not making a fashion statement, just needed a utilitarian outdoor coat I can move around in. Love all the pockets ( I don't carry a purse while out hiking or walking the dog), double closure (zipper /snaps), hood, etc. to make a long story short, gave mine to my son, bought one for husband & another for me. All for less than the original price for one - can't beat that!
