Always Wearing It
Bought as gift for my husband. He likes heavier shirts more than jackets, based on him never wearing the jackets he has. He doesn't say much about clothing, and though he has plenty of choices, he's been wearing this one most of the time. That's about the best recommendation possible from him :)

""RIGHT WEIGHT & RIGHT FIT""
Backorder arrived as promised and it has become a most welcome addition to my already crowded jacket collection. Layering during this mild winter in Michigan ( so far!) has become paramount. Wish it came in more colors.
Looks great, smells horrible! Don't buy this, trust me, you will send it back.

Not just a shirt, not just a Jac!
This Suede shirt-jac is dapper enough to wear on a night out and casual enough for a Saturday morning coffee run! The quality is exactly what I have come to know from Territory Ahead, no disappointment there. I liked mine so much that I had to buy a second one after having left mine in a local restaurant. Obviously somebody else is enjoying it too because it never came full circle!

Looks and Smells Great!
LOVE the shirt/jac! It is the perfect weight for my climate, and like everything I purchase from TA, is top quality. Some previous posts speak of a foul odor....WRONG. TA has either fixed the problem or else the previous posters had overly sensitive noses. There is no abnormal smell to me! Sizing: I am normally sized a Medium, needed a small on this (sleeves).

Very good, but not perfect
First, the complaints about smell is silly. Either these people have never bought leather goods before, or the problem has been solved. ---Only gripe is sleeve length. It's a little longer than I'm used to. I'm hoping I'll get used to it, because I do really like the jacket.
Great except for one thing...
I purchased this suede shirt/jac after reading all of the reviews, including those few that referenced a strong offensive/chemical odor to the leather. I too could not get past the smell of this garment - a strong, strange and offensive odor, certainly not the typical wonderful smell of leather. So despite my liking the color, styling, and fit, I had to return it. Just couldn't live with that smell. I would not recommend this nor buy this item until its odor issue can be resolved.
Very nice, but does smell
I would just call this a jacket, not a shirt jacket. The smell is an issue--kind of acrid and burning, like a brand new baseball mitt just oiled, so I'll have to let it age gracefully and outgas before I can wear it some places. Like those great yoga mats that smell bad for several weeks. Wore it to a stock show yesterday and the goats didn't care.
This jacket is superior for its quality construction and styling. I'll admit there was a distasteful chemical odor at first, but that seems to be dissipating. Also, the color isnt quite the dark brown that's pictured but rather more greyish. Yes, it does run a little large as well with the sleeves just a tad too long. I do wish it had a cell phone pocket on the inside lapel too. Beyond that, this is already perhaps my favorite jacket. High quality garment. The suede is supple but substantial. It'll get you compliments on the street. Truly, if you've ever wanted a classy suede jacket, pull the trigger and get this one.
Great jacket, but some smell
Great jacket but some do smell! I bought this jacket and could not with repeated airings get rid of a pronounced, room-smelling odor. Not foul, but very, very noticeable. TA's great customer service is replacing jacket and reported to me that while some jackets may be defective, many customers reported no problems (see other reviews). Just a heads up. I like the jacket so much that I am bothering to attempt finding an odor-free version with great assist from TA--who always comes through. Jacket 5 stars, odor 1 star.
Whatever smell problem that previously existed must be in the past. This shirt jacket had only the faintest leather smell to it. Fit is perfect, workmanship is very good. I am very pleased. Gonna look killer when I start gigging with my new country band! Oh, and I thought the picture was quite representative of the color. It has kind of a sheen to it when brushed up, which gives it sort of a silvery highlight, but is just the way the light reflects from it.
