Love this jacket

I wore this jacket a few weeks ago to a doctor's appointment. The nurse called all the other nurses in the office to see my jacket and all wanted to know where I bought it. I wore it again today for a friends' lunch and got lots more compliments. I did have one button to replace, but that was not problem as an extra button came along. I would love to have another color in this style.

Gorgeous jacket

This is one of my favorite jackets of all time. I have it in azure. It has a unique, handcrafted look that sets it apart. Every time I wear it I get multiple compliments. When I wore it to book group, I was mobbed by admirers! I did heed the warnings of the reviewers and ordered it in extra-small instead of my usual small, and the fit is perfect.

Impulsive purchase

I bought this based on the colors and the interesting use of textiles. It reminded me very much of the mola style of the indigenous peoples of Central America. I used to teach Spanish and I have myself dabbled quite a bit in textile arts, so this was a ""must have"" purchase. I wear a lot of navy blue and red so I was attracted by those colors also. I received the jacket almost overnight even though I just used regular shipping. I washed it inside out in my front loading washer, dried it on low for 10 minutes, then hung it to dry. I checked for loose threads since some customers voiced concerns about loose threads. I carefully pulled any loose threads under the fabric using a small crochet hook and ""no worries"". I have worn the jacket twice now and have been very pleased with it so far. It has a rustic look about it that I can dress up or down. I like that the design on the back is delightfully asymmetrical. I am 4'11"" and weigh 120 lbs. I purchased the small petite size and it fits well in the shoulders, yet boxy in the body. I do not plan to button the jacket.

Look Before You Leap....

the beauty of this jacket really grabbed me in the catalogue. Since I like my jackets a little loose I ordered a large, and I too was dismayed when I. First put it on; it flt like a sack. However, I really didn't wanted to return it, I wanted to wear it. I washed it in the machine, inside out, slightly warm gentle cycle, low and damp dry. The fit is now almost perfect and I am glad I didn't return for a medium. I am 5-7, 142 lbs. yest there are some area that need tacking, and loose threads, but nothing major.

Beautiful Jacket...........

This a beautiful jacket! Love the gun metal color! It is carefully & nicely made. However, the jacket is truly boxy as all the reviews state. I'm not sure I'd wash the jacket in the washing machine, as some reviewers have suggested. What I did was easily done, just take in the side seams to contour with your waistline. With no pockets.... Also am going to sew in a matching piece of material (gray) on the inside of jacket... a sleeve for my cell phone. While I do love the jacket I don't like those buttons. Need to replace them.

Great little jacket

I purchased the sky blue version and am delighted with it. I've gotten comments on it each time I wear it and it's the perfect weight for Dallas much of the year. Even in the summer it is just right for movies and restaurants that blast the AC. Being an artist myself, I appreciate hand crafted garments that are unique and fun and this jacket fits the bill!

The Artisan Jacket in Gunmetal

Love, love, LOVE this jacket. Just traveled across country and up into Canada. I wore this going and returning home. You would not believe the number of compliments I got on this wonderful jacket. And, what was really nice is that it can get pretty chilly on some of those little commute flights and wearing this was like being wrapped up in Grandma's favorite quilt. I found no problems with the construction, the buttons add the right touch. This is definitely a statement piece for my wardrobe. Sizing...very comfortable over lightweight sweater. Great with my jeans and boots or dressy pants and heels.

Colors and sizing vary

I've had this jacket in turquoise for years and love it--colors are rich, material is soft and drapes well, and I've always gotten lots of compliments. Recently ordered the Sky Blue, which I'm not as happy with: colors are drabber than pictured (it's more pale blue-grey than sky blue), and the material seems stiffer and more bulky. I'm keeping it, but don't love it.

Gorgeous and Unique

Ordered this after reading all the reviews on the site and LOVED it! The fits is just loose enough to make this jacket versatile with a lot of pants and skirts, even dresses, the fabric and craftsmanship are fine. I may decide to change the buttons on the front to a filigree metal variety - I feel that they would complement the jacket better, but not yet. One note to consider: you may wish to wash or dry clean (my choice) the jacket before wearing, it has a smell from the dyeing and finishing process that won't come out just by airing it out for a few days.
