This is a WONDERFUL skirt. The construction is skillful: the seams are finished to last forever, the waistband and fly details are smooth, and the fit is true to the sizing chart. It does hang long: at slightly less than 5'2", I find it's nearly ankle-length, but it's not overwhelming because the cut is flattering to my stocky build. The color is brighter and stronger than the picture suggests: be prepared to be on the edge of styling because of the bold tone. The skirt swings well, pockets are perfectly placed, and the fabric is just the right weight for all but the most sultry of temperatures.
better than expected
This is not your usual tissue thin, easily wrinkled linen fabric. The fabric of this skirt is substantial, with enough weight to drape well and not wrinkle, yet is not too heavy to be comfortable. This skirt will be seasonless - cool enough for summer, substantial enough to be a great winter boot skirt too. I was very pleasantly surprised upon receiving this skirt. And I LOVE the vibrant bright blue color. Very pleased. I am 5'5", and 115 lbs, and I ordered a regular 6 based on the measurements of the size chart, and the skirt is a little big around my waist. Since it is a skirt, it can hang on my hips and be fine. The length falls to my ankles, which works well. I am going to order the other color in a size 4.
Best Skirt Ever
This is one of the nicest, long skirts I have ever owned. I look high and low for comfy long skirts that I can wear all year. This one takes the prize for style, comfort, length (I am 5'10") and colors. I do wish there were MORE colors! The linen never wrinkles and it drapes in a feminine way and looks great dressed up or down. It is a must for anyone who loves skirts as I do!
Great heavy linen fabric and drape. I am 5'4"", which is not petite but definitely not tall. This skirt comes to my ankles. Therefore will look best with heels. I found the waist to run small, so returned first order and ordered a size up. Hope that works. Would be nice to be comped shipping of simply exchanging!
Love this skirt!
I purchased this skirt in wicker and am so pleased with it. The linen is just the right weight to be ""drapey"" so it swings when I walk, which I love. It fits me perfectly and is very slimming in spite of the light color. I will get the slate color when the weather turns a bit cooler. It has belt loops and would look chic with a belt and top tucked in, but I plan to wear it with a longer top.
A TEN STAR SKIRT!
I have been buying variations of this skirt from Territory Ahead since it was made with a sort of patchwork thingie on the side and had rivets. I've owned it in every color and length and have even bought duplicates of the exact same skirt because I'm so happy to have found a skirt that not only looks good but actually feels comfortable, too. I find this skirt to be very slimming around the hips and tummy (exactly where I need that sort of help.) From the knees down, it has a really nice flair to it that sort of spins real pretty-like when you move. And to have belt loops on a skirt like this! Heaven! The nubby, thick linen makes it a 3 season ""go-to."" In the fall, pair it with cowboy boots. In the spring, chunky clogs. And in the summer it looks great with hurraches. Even in the summer, it breathes and moves and feels cool - for SURE cooler than some lightweight, sweaty rayon/""microfiber"" flowered number that might look ""cool and summery"" but makes you feel like you've punched a waist in the top of a hefty bag and are wearing it as a skirt. The quality of this linen makes it look like something you picked up while you were on vacation in Europe. I am a big-time linen-lover, but have had to ditch MANY linen clothes because of the high maintainance factor outweighed the comfort. You know the type of linen I'm talking about: iron your linen jacket just before leaving for work but by the time you climb out of your car to head into your office you look like you're wearing a giant crumpled post-it. Get this: Not only do I not need to IRON my lovran linen skirts when I take them out of the dryer, it remains wrinkle-free while I'm wearing it. THAT is how wonderful this linen fabric is. My only gripe is that Territory Ahead doesn't make this skirt in more colors and bigger sizes.
New England (but wish it was the West, sigh...)
The fit of this skirt was perfect except for the length. I am 5'3"" and the skirt fell to the top of my feet. I loved it so much; however, I just had the length altered.
Different sizing than shorter skirt?
I love this skirt, but am completely baffled by the sizing, and am tired of having to pay extra shipping charges. I bought the knee-length skirt, and had to exchange for larger size, and it was still tight. So this full-length I bought two sizes up, and it is too big, but based on the knee-length it should be just right. HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED SHRINKING? Maybe my shorter skirt shrank, but I didn't think so.
