Love it

This dress is so cute I purchased it in the red madras plaid and wear it with leggings and high boots. It definetely in my wardrobe at least once a week if not more. I am 5'7 and 160 I bought the sz. 14 and love the extra room, but I would probably go with a 12 next time as the material has a lot of give, but goes back to smaller after it is washed.

Strange (defective?) construction

First dress I ordered looked great out of the box. Fit pretty good (I'd been concerned about fit since it's pretty straight and I'm rather hippy.) But it looked strange around the abdomen. Taking it off and examining further I found that the tucks on the front are about 2"" lower than the tucks on the back! The back ones release at about the waist, but the front ones continue past belly button level and release almost at the upper hip, which is not flattering. Customer service was great, saying they would immediately send another at no charge or refund my money. I decided to try again. The second one was constructed the same. It was also somewhat smaller overall: tight in hips, 1-2"" shorter, neckline 1"" higher (actually a good thing to me). I ended up keeping the first dress and will remove stitching on the longer/lower tucks so they match the other side. Other problems: * Fabric is called ""double cloth"" (there is a different pattern on the inside), but it is still quite thin. * Plaid does not match at seams. Most commercially made garments are like that, but on this dress the plaid was not well matched at front placket either. The main reason I kept this dress despite it not being overly warm for winter and having to alter it, is that it looks great with a tan suede jacket and tan western style boot that I already own. But I would advise anyone to consider all the problems before ordering.

Territory's typical quality and comfort

The cotton of this dress is as soft as my favorite PJ's and the double layer makes it warm enough to take you from fall into winter. Run's slightly large, which makes it easy to pair with your favorite leggings or jeans. And at the sale price, it is an incredible bargain!

Perfect with a pair of tights!

The double sided plaid lends thickness while the fabric is cotton and lightweight. Indoors worn belted without a sweater this is comfortable for mild winter days. It is a bit shorter than show in the picture on my 5'5"" frame. I bought this on sale and felt the value was terrific.

Versatile dress

Beautiful dress. Fabric is thinner than I thought it would be but that doesn't mean it is a bad thing. I ordered my normal jean size and I feel that the dress is true to size. I wear this dress over brown leggings with brown boots. I do wear a camisole or t-shirt under the dress. It isn't necessarily low cut but it is a lower scoop neck so I do this to be more appropriate for work.

Versatile

Very nice fabric. The dress looks good with a belt and boots. Also versatile - good for work or play. It runs slightly large.

Got Me Through the Winter

We had a warm winter here in the D.C. area and this was my go-to dress. I bought the blue madras plaid and paired it with leggings and a sweater and a festive orange belt and it kept the blues away. It was great choice for casual business events where one likes to wear something a little different. The arm length was good which sometimes can be a problem and the length was fine, because I'm small, so it was just over my knees. While the fabric isn't a soft; it wasn't itchy.

Loved the idea

I really liked the fabric and idea of this dress, but it just looked so matronly on me.

Great Dress

This dress is great. It can be worn spring, fall and winter-it is a bit too heavy for hot summer days. It can be dressed up or down and is a great piece for work or casual wear. It runs a bit large sizing down is a good idea. Wish it could be worn inside out.

Horrible fit

This dress fits very badly around the mid-section. Not even a belt made it look right. I bought the red dress in a size 14; I did ""not"" need a larger size (bust 40-42"" and 34"" waist) . . . the way this dress fell on me was odd and kind of frumpy. It would have been a nice blouse, if cut at the waist, but as a dress, it did not fall right. I will probably return it and lose badly regarding the shipping and handling charges. I should have listened to the negative reviews and I would have saved money on S&H going both ways.

Odd Fit - Not Cut to Flatter

Material is lightweight and airy, would be nice and breezy in warm weather. However the coloring is more suited for cooler weather. I returned the dress because of the fit though... seemed to fit lengthwise, in shoulders, and arms, but the mid-section is extremely baggy and ruins the look of the dress.

A Bargain

This dress was a bargain on sale. I totally agree with others who found the scoop neck too low. I'm tired of always trying to find camis, etc. to wear under shirts and dresses these days. The dress is large in the middle. I am disappointed that there are no belt loops as advertised. I will put some in and wear the self-belt in the back to gently cinch the dress. I bought the blue - very nice colors. The dress has wonderful details - tucks, buttons, etc. I'm 5'4"" and the dress is knee-length on me. Overall, it was an excellent bargain on sale.

way too boxy

I tried this dress in two sizes, 10 and 8, and they were both way too wide. I mean, WAY too wide!!! I do a little sewing, and even considered trying to alter the dress myself, but I would have had to take about 10 inches off the width to make it wearable. I am 5'8"" and 140 lbs, but you would have to be much heavier for this dress to fit. The 8 was no narrower than the 10, just a little shorter.
