Good points: The heavy weight is a perfect in-between t-shir and sweatshirt. The 60's retro high collar looks great in photos.
Point for improvement: The Hawthorne shirt is a great idea, but seriously flawed in the collar fabric tape material. I own 4, purchsed approx 2022; the collars of the orange and the blue began to split and fray after no more than 2 cycles of machine washing and hang drying. Within 4 washings the blue collar's top extensively split and was partially salvaged by a sewing repair shop tucking and machine stitching the entire top of the collar tape. After less than 4 or 5 washings, the collars of these shirts are no longer presentable for public wear, and are relegated to yard work or outdoor exercise. The exception is my purple Hawthorn, which may have come out of a different factory - it's collar tape is different, being slightly less high, and after 5 washings has not yet started bunch/crack/fray sequence which plagues the others. ALL these shirts collars begin to sag and roll in a few hours, and need an improved collar tape material - perhaps a small % of Lycra would help?
