Size runs large

Been a TA shorts wearer for 25+ years, most of which were sold in INCH waist sizes. Took a cue from other my clothing with generic sizes (XL tops, L pants) and ordered Large size in these shorts. They are almost 2" larger in the waist than previous shorts sold as 36" waist. On the plus side, the material is much thicker than the old shorts. These also have no extras such as waistline liner/stiffeners, extra buttons, etc. A bit pricey for Chinese made shorts.
