Eavesdrop on truckers using their CB radios and you’ll hear them talking about dodging “roller skates” (small cars) and “Smokey Bears” (highway police), “bumper stickers” (cars following too closely), and the “granny lane.” Why this mini-lesson in big-rig slang? Because this hard-driving jacket of ours is itself a big rig, and based on a short-waisted classic denim style that was associated with American truckers back in the day. We’ve burnished and aged the garment’s edges, for a nicely worn-in look, but most importantly we’ve made it out of an extremely sturdy cowhide that will keep you warm on winter mornings before your engine has had a chance to heat up.
