Canyon Road in Santa Fe is a historic, narrow, winding street with sunbaked adobe buildings with thick wood doors and a half mile of locally owned art galleries, shops and restaurants. When I meandered inside Seret & Sons, a bazaar that had been at that same location offering textiles, furniture and artifacts for over 100 years, I stumbled across a dusty blanket with a unique design that felt like old Santa Fe to me. I immediately overpaid for this blanket, like everyone shopping in Santa Fe does, and celebrate it today with this shirt woven in a medium weight of soft cotton, warm enough for Santa Fe evenings and cool enough for Santa Fe days.
