The sweater I found on that wind-lashed island 19 years ago. Simple, cotton, salt-kissed. I wore it walking the 30-mile stretch alone, reading by firelight, chasing winter’s silence. Now it’s back. Same clean construction. Same sea-washed feel. No shortcuts. People asked me where I got it. They’ll ask you too.

It’s a cotton-acrylic blend, not 100% cotton

I’ve owned two similar sweaters, both 100% cotton. The last one came from J Peterman. Since Territory Ahead sells their products, I thought that this sweater - described as “cotton” in the catalog - is actually 45% acrylic. Not so. Which Meant I had to pay for shipping twice. I will NEVER order from here again.

Too bad, because they used to offer high-quality products, back when they were owned by the original company in Santa Barbara. Now it is an East Coast outfit.
